Abstract

This paper intends to discuss, from an epistemological point of view, on the ways in which Split philosophy has influenced the history of the psychology of cognitive development. Firstly, the ontological and epistemological features of this philosophy on modern thinking Will be examined, and then its impact on some of the traditions of psychological research Will be explored. The main difficulty of cognitive views in exploring the production of cognitive novelties is emphasized. The reductionism of discursive psychology is also examined. Finally, the need to overcome both positivist objectivism and relativism, which are epistemological explæssions of split philosophy, is highlighted.
