Masculinity and Classes in Two Novels by Cristián Huneeus: El rincón de los niños and Una escalera contra la pared
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article focuses on two novels by Cristián Hunneus as a narrative proposal in which the construction of the Chilean male subject during his childhood and youth is questio- ned. This is a male subject determined and questioned by his own class, the oligarchy. We propose an interpretation centered on the main character of both novels, Gaspar Ruiz, which holds the narrative plot configured by these novels and dialogues from genealogy with Chilean political history of the XX century.
