About the Journal
The Revista de Trabajo Social is a specialized publication of the School of Social Work of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in Spanish and English, considering summaries in Portuguese, with semester periodicity and electronic format (http://revistatrabajosocial.uc.cl/ ). It is focused on issues related to the exercise of social work, social issues of interest and disciplinary discussions.
The Revista de Trabajo Social incorporates four sections in each of its numbers:
1. Editorial, whose authors, recognized by the discipline, in each Issue address current or avant-garde issues.
2. Scientific articles, being of special interest those that incorporate a mixed and / or quantitative methodology.
3. Analysis of cases, considering interventions, projects, policies and social programs.
4. Reviews of books, documentaries and / or audiovisual material, current and relevant to the discipline.
EDITORIAL
Represents the opinion, reflection, debate, collective thought and project of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile School of Social Work on issues related to disciplinary development and the professional practice of social work, based on a compilation of documents (articles, analysis, reviews). Positions and introduces on topics that are at the forefront of their concerns and occupations. The renowned members of the Editorial Committee are generally linked to this task. It is expected to be interpretive, explanatory, critical or persuasive, which encourages the reading of the journal. Its length is short and captivating about the content.
Maximum 1,000 words.
1. TYPES OF MANUSCRIPT
1a. SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE, document that communicates the process and result of an applied research, favoring a mixed methodology on issues related to the exercise of social work, its disciplinary discussions and social issues of interest to the discipline. The articles are basically structured according to the format: Introduction (Presentation), Theoretical framework (or Review of the literature or State of the art on the subject), Methodology (Objectives, methods, procedures, ethical considerations), Results, Discussion and Conclusions, References.
Maximum length 10,000 words. No more than 15 words are recommended for the title.
Resumen / Abstract / Resumo maximum 200 words in 3 languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese).
Keywords (or compound terms) maximum 10 (Unesco Thesaurus, IRIS or JEL Thesaurus or other pertinent ones), also including their translations into English and Portuguese (keywords and palavras chave).
In the case of articles in English, an extended Resumen in Spanish of between 800 and 1,000 words will be requested, where it must refer to all sections of the article synthetically.
The citation system is APA (7th Edition, 2019).
Articles represent 70% of the content of the journal.
1b. CASES ANALYSIS, considering interventions, projects, policies and social programs, being able to incorporate improvement in the quality of social services, people-centered care, family and community programs, ethical conflicts and / or organizational innovations that improve care and they offer tools, technologies or instruments to do so. Evaluations or descriptive studies of cases of Intervention on the subject of Public / Social Policy.
The documents have a maximum length of 2,000 words and follow the structure:
• Title (Spanish, English and Portuguese).
• Summary (Spanish, English and Portuguese).
• Description of the public or social problem
• Description of the intervention
• Analysis
• Conclusions and recommendations
• Financing (if applicable / applicable)
1c. REVIEWS
The reviews of documentary books and / or audiovisual material are academic analyzes, with a focus on the contribution of subjects specific to the discipline and its professional practice. They provide relevant and contextualized information to the existing body of knowledge on a particular topic of interest.
Represents 10% of the journal.
The documents have a maximum length of 700 words and follow the structure:
a. Cover image (included in the text and attached in the shipment separately in JPG format)
b. Review Author
c. Review:
- Author / Director of the source reviewed; Year; editorial; town.
- Summary of maximum 200 words and 3 keywords (all in Spanish, English and Portuguese).
- Explicit presentation of the topic and / or problem to be developed in the body of the text, considering at least one introduction and one closing as a conclusion of the content. APA system reference (Seventh Edition, 2019).
Articles represent 20% of the content of the journal.
Sending the manuscript according to the rules and forms prescribed by the OJS system.
