Abstract

This work analyzes the policies carried out in Argentina with young people in conflict with the criminal law. Particularly, the focus of the study is raised on the interventions implemented from the area of professional training and training with young people in the context of confinement. In this sense, a journey is made around the transformations that have been carried out in the province of Buenos Aires, and gave rise to a paradigm shift: from the irregular situation of minors to the perspective of promotion and protection of rights of girls, boys and adolescents. On the other hand, the support of the theory of human capital is considered as a notion that underlies the training actions that are carried out in the context of confinement. Third, empirical data is presented regarding the socio-family profiles of young people who are part of the confinement institution and the operation of the training devices that are proposed. Finally, the author proposes five points to reconsider the formulation of social policies for this social sector.
